Literacy

At Parktone Primary School the purpose of the Literacy Program is to provide opportunities to develop student’s skills in the four modes of the English language: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.

The teachers currently base their approach to English on the Victorian Essential learning Standards which aims to develop in students;

• The ability to speak, listen, read, spell and write with enjoyment and confidence

Our students further develop their English skills through the Early Years approach to learning when students have the opportunity to work in small groups settings where reading, writing, spelling and speaking and listening are a focus to cater for individual differences.
